There was a humble bramble,
They let it grow in peace,
So up the wall it scrambled,
Climbing with cheerful ease.
Rain fuelled its progress swift,
The spring sun encouraged it to flower.
Bees and bugs welcomed it as a gift,
Pouring in their pollination in power.
It swelled with fruit in early May,
First green, then red, then black.
Kids, jays and bears cried, “Hurray!”
And rushed to collect their snack.
Teeth tinted purple, smiling lips smacked
Bellies filled with heavenly bliss all around.
Wings fluttered in excitement, tails wagged
The air was filled with a munching sound.
Yet when the fruit was finished, they didn't bow,
They didn't thank it, they lacked gratitude.
Animals left, carrying its seeds away—ciao.
While humans broke its canes with a bad attitude.
