Bright red faced as if embarrassed, it looked around boldly and gave itself airs rather worldly. Eyeing the garden for a minute or two, the goldfinch spotted the last of those tiny flowers blue. Tempted by curiosity and feeling somewhat peckish, it started feasting on forget-me-not seeds with relish.
The irises admired its feathers yellow bright, whilst poppies fainted for its melody sublime. One has to admit the song was delightful indeed and filled the air with the liquid twitter and tweet.
Whilst it basked in its glory admired by all, fate had surprise for it in store. As the goldfinch forgot itself in its aria rather long, the pussycat sneaked up on it and snatched it up midsong.
Delphinium lamented, roses wept over the finch's tragic fate. The predator only smacked its lips with a triumphant smile great. It licked its paws and mouth clean of blood... and pretended again to be a civilized cat!
