Insects live but a moment or two,
So they cannot ignore a breeze or a dew.
Their lives might seem insignificant and small
Yet, they play such a crucial, to our existence, role.
If bees stopped pollinating plants one year,
We would have no fruit or veg, that's clear!
Not all bugs, however, are welcome by humans and other mammals,
Being considered non productive and unhelpful animals.
Flies are annoying and dirty, I confess.
They love sitting on dung and waste!
They can pass us a disease or two.
Just like a tick or a mosquito - dangerous buggers, boo!
Strength wise, elephants are known for their incredible force.
Yet, when compared with a horned dung beetle, they're at a loss.
As it can drag items over a thousand times its body weight!
It's as if one human was pulling a few buses… no less than eight!
So despite the beetle's tiny size,
It's the strongest animal in the world and it gets the first prize!
