The Symphony of Nature

The rain fell and sounded its voice
Making the soil warm and moist.
It washed away the remaining snow
Preparing the world for spring's first bow.
Allowing impatient grass to carpet the fields
And swifty cover them with green quilts.

Willows responded in a jealous fit,
Dressing their twigs in a citrine outfit.
Snowdrops shily made the way
For crocuses to open the following day.
Daffodils, too, popped opened their heads,
Creating a golden sea of flowerbeds.

The symphony of nature could no longer be held back
Leaves on trees started shooting up.
Buds showed out of nowhere as if by magic spell
with youthful energy and a story to tell.
Competing with blossoms appearing on apples and pears,
Cherry trees graced the orchards with pink bells.

Chiffchaff broke the silence with soft chirps,
Swiftly followed by the sparrow's quips.
Robin and chaffinch hit the higher notes,
Filling the air with the sweetest of songs.
Blackbirds responded in a minor key,
To be joined in by trills of a warbler and buzzing of a bee.
